Maseno University on Friday, 14th November 2025, hosted its 25th Graduation Ceremony, an auspicious event that drew distinguished guests from across Kenya\u2019s higher education sector.
The Ministry of Education was represented by the Principal Secretary, Dr. Beatrice Inyangala, who delivered a keynote speech on behalf of the Cabinet Secretary, Dr. Migos Ogamba. Also present were leaders from partner institutions, including the Vice-Chancellor of Tom Mboya University, formerly a constituent college of Maseno University Prof. Charles Ochola, representatives from Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology, and representatives from  Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A total of 5,678 graduands were conferred with degrees, diplomas, and certificates, marking a significant milestone in their academic journeys.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

In her address, the Principal Secretary, Dr. Beatrice Inyangala urged the graduands to step confidently into the future armed not only with their academic knowledge but also with the character shaped during their time at the University. Quoting George Elliot, he reminded them, \u201cIt is never too late to be what you might have been,\u201d adding that the future remains wide open for those who embrace innovation, creativity, and resilience.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Vice-Chancellor Prof. Julius Nyabundi expressed deep appreciation to the Government for its sustained support to the institution. He highlighted the University\u2019s continued investment in research and innovation, efforts that he said are already contributing to societal transformation.
Prof. Nyabundi also revealed that 8,554 new students joined Maseno University this academic year, emphasizing that many selected Maseno as their first-choice University due to its strong National reputation. Despite a tight budget, he noted that the University has made significant strides in enhancing its infrastructure.
Recent improvements include modern student hostels accommodating over 4,000 learners, upgraded science laboratories, a new tuition block, and the recent groundbreaking of the ICT Hub, a flagship project expected to position Maseno University on the global technology and research map.<\/p>\n<\/div>

The Chairman of Council  Prof. Omolo Ongati, who presided over the ceremony, commended the University\u2019s Management for steering consistent growth and maintaining high academic standards. He praised the developmental progress visible across the institution, noting that such investments are key to preparing graduates for a rapidly evolving world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 25th Graduation Ceremony not only celebrated academic achievements but also reaffirmed Maseno University\u2019s commitment to Excellence, Innovation, and the Holistic development of learners’ values that continue to define the institution\u2019s legacy.<\/p>\n<\/div>
